Styleguides, pattern libraries, and design systems are becoming more commonplace. As the web continues to mature older design patterns, even though they are widely understood, no longer work well for a multi-device web. Building modular, reusable patterns will help designs function on a wider group of devices.
In this session attendees will discover:
- Basic guidelines for creating modular design patterns
- Updated age-old design patterns for the evolving web
- New responsive design patterns that solve complex, multi-device design problems
- How to leverage Sass and PostCSS when creating design patterns

This talk will explore the many options you have for automatically testing your React applications.
We will compare testing the generated DOM versus testing the virtual DOM. We will cover testing with Jasmine and mocking with Jest. We will also consider the alternative of testing with Mocha and mocking with Sinon. We will look at testing behavior, both by using Simulate and by calling methods to respond to non-user events.
By the end of the talk, I hope everyone will have found at least one method for testing React that they like and can apply in their day-to-day coding.
