Essentials of RequisitePro for Managers / Analysts

The one-day course introduces students to the basic concepts and functionality of the RequisitePro tool and demonstrates how this tool integrates with other Rational products such as SoDA and Rose Enterprise.  The foundation of this course is based on the Rational Unified Process (RUP) and specifically the requirements discipline.

Who should attend?

This course is designed for IT managers, IT project managers, and business analysts who are responsible for managing requirements within a software system.  Architects and developers are also welcome to attend if they are supporting multiple roles such as a project manager or business analyst role(s).

After completing the course, learners will be able to:

  • Understand the basics of requirements management
  • Understand RequisitePro terminology and application functionality
  • Create and maintain views
  • Create and maintain requirements
  • Understand traceability
  • Integrate SoDA
  • Integrate Rose
  • Properly utilize reporting and metrics
  • Be familiar with industry best practices and lessons learned

Prerequisites

It is recommended that students possess a general knowledge of the Rational Unified Process and a familiarity with the basics of RequisitePro.
