Topic: Agility and Safety-Critical Software... Strange Bed-fellows?
RTCA/DO-178B is the primary guidance for the development of safety-critical aviation software. It also has been applied to the development of medical, military, and other safety-critical software. While DO-178B has an excellent safety record, it is costly and time-consuming. Tom is new to XP, and is interested in applying some parts of XP to safety-critical systems. Tom will discuss DO-178B ' s strengths and weaknesses, and will encourage attendees to discuss how some of XP ' s best practices might be applied within the context of DO-178B.
