Abstract

This presentation is about Speed2Value (S2V), which helps businesses answer the questions:
  1. What are the steps that IT can take to deliver the most value to the business?
  2. How can IT fulfill on its objectives as quickly as possible?
The objective is to get business and IT to discuss technology initiatives and projects in terms of value, rather than cost. Speed2Value is an approach that puts value first at every step of the project. Throughout the project, each feature must be evaluated in terms of money earned or saved. This allows the team members to make decisions about where to expend effort basedon the value of the affected features.

Speed2Value uses concepts from agile processes like iterative development, test-first development, continuous integration, and others to reduce risk and deliver high quality software into production early and often. At each iteration, the business can evaluate the software in terms of the value it provides, and determine the direction that makes sense for subsequent iterations, or to cease development. This talk shows how a value-based approach and agile processes support the objective of delivering business value early and often.
