Monthly Meetings May 25, 2005: Picking Your Practices : How to Create XP Success a Little at a Time Downloads
Can't do a full-blown roll-out of XP in your organization? Then do a little at time to create solutions for existing challenges! This session will be a walk through of some real-world scenarios where XP practices were used to create immediate value on projects in organizations that were using heavy, waterfall-like development processes. What worked in these scenarios could work for you in your current organization, too! About the Speaker:John Huston, President and Principal Consultant for IT Reality Check (http://www.itrealitycheck.com), has 18 years industry experience in a variety of leadership roles including managing complex IT development projects, process development and deployment, project management and strategic architecture development. Prior to founding IT Reality Check, Mr. Huston has served most recently in the role of IT Director at a leading telecommunications company where he led a team for the company wide roll out of eXtreme Programming (XP) to over 4000 IT employees and business unit personnel across 6 geographic locations. During the roll out he trained organizations, performed on-site project mentoring, facilitated Release Planning and prototyping sessions using .NET and worked at all levels of the organization to identify and overcome cultural obstacles in the adoption of XP. John has also led a variety of software development teams of 115+ people, many of them geographically dispersed, on projects in web development, database management, order/process automation and 3rd-party software integrations.
