About the Speaker
Martin Fowler, a software pioneer and renowned I.T. author and speaker, joined ThoughtWorks in March 2000. As Chief Scientist, Fowler works with ThoughtWorks ' Global 1000 clients to solve real-world business problems through the use of next generation technologies and advanced software development methodologies. From 1990 to 2000, he was an independent consultant helping corporations use object technology to develop mission-critical information systems. Fowler helped pioneer the practical use of some of the industry ' s leading development techniques, including Software Patterns, Agile Methodologies, Unified Modeling Language (UML), Extreme Programming, Refactoring and Analysis Patterns. Fowler has authored five books including: Analysis Patterns, Refactoring, the award-winning UML Distilled, Planning Extreme Programming and Patterns of Enterprise Application Architecture (Nov 2002). He also speaks regularly and hosts workshops at many prominent industry conferences and universities throughout the world.
