March 30, 2005: Overview of DSDM
Downloads
Abstract
The Dynamic Systems Development Method is a date-driven project planning method that compliments the XP development philosophy. DSDM allows a project team to confidently commit to a project completion date and meet that date with certainty. DSDM stresses user involvement, iterative development, team empowerment and collaboration. (Sound familiar?)
DSDM.org is a worldwide consortium of over 400 member organizations, and part of the Agile Alliance. DSDM hinges on the principle of "Fit for Use" - "Build the right PRODUCT, before you build it right technically."
Dave Ungar has been facilitating DSDM planning workshops at OCLC for three years. He is a Certified Software Quality Analyst and Certified Software Tester. Dave was a software developer for ten years before becoming a Quality Analyst seven years ago. Dave is the current President of the Central Ohio Quality Assurance Association, and President of the Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resources Center. When not in the office, he applies his expertise in project management and quality systems to rehabbing houses.
