The First Step in Becoming a Java/Java EE Developer
Who Should Attend?
Mainframe or client-server developers who need to learn how to support and
develop Java applications. Java 101 is a lecture/lab course designed to give
students a hands-on introduction to Java/OO programming.
Prerequisites
Java 101 is a 4 day introductory course designed for software developers who
have little or no previous Java/OO development experience.
Students Will
- Learn Java programming syntax, data types and built-in
language features
- Understand Java technology and get hands-on experience
using the Java Software Development Kit
- Learn to use Java APIs and documentation
- Create new Java classes
- Declare and create primitives, objects, and array types
- Learn the basic object oriented design and programming
concepts
- Use classroom exercises to apply the OO concepts of Abstraction,
Polymorphism, Inheritance,
and Encapsulation
- Develop on their own several new Java programs
- Practice reviewing and debugging Java programs
- Study the Java Foundation Classes
