June 10th
CORUG Quarterly
Presentation
Summary:
A certain amount of traceability is present in any development process. As a general term it is defined as the “ability to chronologically interrelate the uniquely identifiable entities in a way that matters”. In the world of projects traceability plays a role in the ability to verify that an implementation fulfills all requirements, verify that the application does only what was requested and to determine the impact of any proposed change. Use cases have been used by software developers for years. Correctly specified use cases provide
a direct link to help users and developers develop a common understanding of the user requirements for a system. Test organizations should also be taking full advantage of the benefits use cases offer. Testers are uniquely positioned to garner great benefit by harnessing the power of
use case implementation by converting use cases into efficient, effective, phase-appropriate testing. Join us on June 10th as we discuss how to create test cases from use cases and employ traceability as well the Rational Unified Process to improve the quality of your organization’s testing processes.
